PROCEED THE WEEDIAN NAZARETH!!!
Last week we did one of those crazy things you can only do on college radio, as we played Sleep's Dopesmoker in it's entirety!!! That meant 63 minutes straight of classic and totally commercial-free doom/stoner rock, and the longest song I've ever played or heard in my life. Go google the lyrics, trust me, and you'll see why it was originally called Jerusalem, and read the story of the record label troubles too.
The closest thing I ever heard to that is when Q107 played Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick all the way through as me and my brother drove home from downtown Toronto, although that song is only a measly 45 minutes long.
Just goes to show you never know what you're going to get when you enter the Sonic Attack, so be listening this Thursday at 1pm eastern time, and online at chry.fm. CHEERS!
Little known fact: Sleep played with the Hawkwind related Space Ritual 1994! No wonder I like them.
